Electric & acoustic guitar
Chords, rhythm, lead playing, and the songs on your list. Plus the practical stuff — tuning, string changes, tone and amp basics.
Solano & surrounding communities
Private in-home guitar, bass, ukulele and mandolin lessons built around the music you actually want to play. No commute. No waiting room. Just Chad, your instrument, and your living room.
What we teach
Move from guitar to bass, or add mandolin, without starting over with a new instructor. Families with different interests get one consistent point of contact — and one visit.

Chords, rhythm, lead playing, and the songs on your list. Plus the practical stuff — tuning, string changes, tone and amp basics.
02
Groove, timing, and locking in with a drummer. Fingerstyle and pick technique, walking lines, and playing by ear for band or worship-team work.
03
The fastest first instrument there is. Ideal for younger students and total beginners — a recognizable song by the end of lesson one.
04
Tremolo, double stops, and chop chords for bluegrass, folk and Americana. A natural next step for guitarists who want something new.
How it works
The hardest part of learning an instrument is showing up. Strings removes that part entirely.
01
A short call or message covers the instrument, the student's age and level, and a few songs on the wish list. No auditions, no placement tests.
02
Weekly or biweekly, 30 to 60 minutes, at a consistent slot that holds. Siblings can be scheduled back-to-back in a single visit.
03
Lessons happen on your instrument, in the room where you'll actually practice. You get a written plan covering the next three to six months.
Meet Chad
I was born and raised in Vacaville, and I live in Cordelia now with my wife, my daughter and two dogs. I got my first guitar at 15 and never really put it down — punk rock and metal, blues, folk, even a little flamenco. I’ve toured in bands and played more weddings than I can count. I’m also an EMT, and I served the beautiful city of Suisun as a firefighter for five years before moving into industrial firefighting in the refineries.
I teach beginner and intermediate players. In my lessons, technique and ear training aren’t handed out as separate homework. They show up inside the songs you picked, so the fundamentals land in a context that makes sense — and stick. I don’t teach from printed music. I draw the chords and riffs out by hand as we go, so you leave with the song written down the way you actually played it.
My students range from six-year-olds with a first ukulele to adults coming back to the guitar after twenty years away, to intermediate players who want to break a plateau and finally improvise, tune by ear, or hold their own in a band.
“Everybody progresses faster on a song they already love. My job is to hide the fundamentals inside it.”
Lessons & rates
All rates include travel within the service area, a written progress plan, and gear and setup guidance between lessons.
$55 / lesson
$75 / lesson
$95 / lesson
First lesson is a no-obligation trial. Billing is monthly for scheduled lessons; 24 hours' notice reschedules a lesson at no charge. Longer drives are quoted case by case.
Inside a first lesson
No audition, no placement test, no long-term package. One lesson at the regular rate, and you decide from there.
First ten minutes
Chad arrives, meets whoever is home, and gets the instrument set up and in tune — the single biggest reason beginners quit is an instrument that fights them. Nothing is graded and nobody is put on the spot.
The middle
You play something real on day one. Absolute beginners leave having played a riff or a chord change from a song they picked themselves, not an exercise out of a method book.
Last five minutes
A short written plan: what to practice, roughly how long, and what it is building toward, with the week’s chords and riffs drawn out by hand. Parents get a copy, so nobody has to guess what practice should look like.
Service area
In-home lessons across Solano and surrounding communities. If you’re a little further out, ask anyway — the answer is usually yes. Online lessons stay available for existing students who travel or relocate.
No. Chad will recommend a specific starter instrument in your budget before the first lesson, and can meet you at a shop if you'd rather buy in person. If you already own something, he'll check the setup and get it playable.
Ages six and up, through adult, at beginner and intermediate levels. Younger beginners usually start on ukulele or a three-quarter-size guitar in 30-minute lessons; teens and adults typically book 45 or 60 minutes.
A quiet room, two chairs, and a little floor space. For electric guitar or bass, an amp helps but isn't required for the first lesson — Chad brings a small practice amp when needed.
Yes, and it's the most efficient way to book. Siblings are scheduled back-to-back in a single trip, each with their own full lesson time and their own progress plan.
Give 24 hours' notice and the lesson moves at no charge. Lessons are billed monthly for the slots you've reserved, so there's no package to buy up front.
Only if you want them. Chad regularly preps students for school auditions, recitals, worship teams, band rehearsals and open mics — but plenty of students just play for themselves.
